We wanted to give you knuckleheads the heads up that all orders placed after October 15th will ship with the whole neck gloss black instead of a matching headstock. The exception being Tobacco Burst. We are doing this for production reasons, the main one being that it became a nightmare trying to match the mahogany headstock stain to the maple top stain.

Do you mean an entirely painted neck like the Sub 1 or just the headstock?

(hides....because I'm a Red Sox fan)

Thanks for the update, Scott !

...oh, and then anyways - should I ever go for a BFR JP, Tobacco Burst would be my colour of choice.

um dont know if this is the right spot for this if its not just delete, but will price change since it's not considered a matching hdstk? But then again being that its a BFR there were never options attached to it just a heck of a guitar =D........i think i answered my own question. Lol.

thx again dargs

Scott,

Being the "perfectionist" that the production team is there at MM, I couldn't imagine the frustration, time and cost you put into trying to do that match in the first place- wow!!!

I love "black" too!!! :)

I'm glad I got mine with the matching headstock, it really completes the look. The Koa should have one too I'm assuming.

This is disappointing news to me. I think the option ought to be there to have a maple capped, matching headstock even if it cost's a little more to the customer. Another option would be to give the customer the choice of having a regular birdseye maple JP neck with matching headstock put on the guitar. I know that I would pay extra to get either of those options instead of having one with a black headstock. A black headstock would make it look kinda cheap IMO. I've played MusicmanJP6's tobaccoburst BFR and it's a killer guitar look wise and playability! It's cheap by no means!

I don't see this going over well....

Look cheap? I disagree. The entire neck is painted anyway. Most of the old limited edtion guitars all had black painted headstocks, this is no different.

This thred is more of informative post then one looking for feedback.
