Hey,

I haven't found any post straightly about the bridge and it's possibility in case of string breakage. I have Floyd Rose tremolo and I have to admit that sometimes it happens that string breaks in the bridge's string slot. I was wondering how it's in JP's model. As far as I'm concerned I haven't met any of user who claimed that he broke string in the bridge...

I know it may be silly topic, but it just crossed my mind.

I don't think I've broken a string on my JPs at all come to think of it! Had one for 2 years and another for almost a year. Superb guitars....

I have broken several on my Silo Spec with the Vintage Tremolo. I probably break at least one string a month. I actually sent it to EB Customer Service to check it out, but they said nothing was wrong with it. I think it may have to do with the environment of the jam room (hot and sweaty)... but I don't seem to have that problem with my other guitars.

I broke two .009 'E' strings in a row while restringing my JP6. Had nothing to do with the bridge though. I wasn't used to the excellent gears in those tuners, and I went and cranked 'em way too many turns with one of those peg winders.. snap! I figured out what I was doing wrong after the 2nd one in a row.. and I've never broken a string in my JP since. And never any problems with the bridge... that's the most excellent trem bridge I've ever used and it should be standard on every guitar in the world!

have you tried setting the radius of your bridge according to the guitar?
maybe it's too high and it causes the string to break.
sounds to me like another simple setup will take care of it all.

In my case, I sent it back to the factory and they didn't make any change to it. Don't know why I tend to break strings (mostly D) on the Silo Spec so much. Maybe it is the way I play?

I've had 4 incidents of the higher E-string breaking at the bridge in the 2 years of owning the guitar.
