Hi!

I was curious which one of the 2010 top JP models would you rather get - the JPX, the blue GC limited or the roasted maple/black sugar?

Thanks

I voted for the GC. I've played/owned the standard JP, BFR, and JPX, and the BFRs are by far my favorites for tone and playability. To be fair, I'd love to try the roasted maple neck, but from what you're choosing from, the GC ones all the way!! Can't beat that finish!! I'd put the JPX as last on your list if you ranked them, since the GC and Roasted maple are VERY limited edition and won't be around easily a couple months from now.

I voted GC blue, think it is so sweet, one of the best finishes ever the no burst makes it awesome, I like it better than DD II:eek::eek:

Roasted would be 1B I think those are going to be sweet as well:cool:

Those BB GC specials are gorgeous. To own 1 of 50 is pretty special. The BS/RM will also be rare.

Those looking for a JP right now have a tough decision.

Wow that is a pretty tough dilemma when you consider that you may not be able to get any of them next year. I personally would go for the RM/BS because I love the look of the guitar and the finish is on the harder side. Then again the GC run is just a beautiful guitar and a 1 of 50 run. You are going to have to decide between those two as your odds of picking up a JPX on the used market will be way higher and almost a guarantee, where as the other two you may be left out in the cold.

I think I'd go with an original JP6 in Roasted Maple/Black Sugar. The original JP6 still sounds killer. When JP pulled out his old Mystic Dream JP6 to play "Pull Me Under" after playing most of the set with BFRs, man...that tone was killer! I had forgotten how amazing it was back before he was playing the BFRs. Of course, I love the BFRs, but don't get me wrong. The old JP6 is fantastic. Or...I'd go with a JPX or JPX in the Roasted Maple/Black Sugar package. To me, the GC exclusive is just a color. It's cool, but I already have a BFR JP6--two, in fact. I wouldn't just get another in a different color.

Of my two BFR JP6s, one is a Dargie 2 with ebony, and the other is a standard BFR. I have a no-frills JP6. What I don't have is a JPX in any form and a fully loaded original JP6. So, the choices I would go for represent combinations and permutations that I don't have already and that don't represent merely getting the same guitar I already own in a different color.

But...if I were you, and those were my three options, well...I'd add a fourth and do that Roasted JPX.

Just take a gander on over at the Music Man Guitars section... You know, the one you're in right now :p You're bound to see at least ONE thread with them in it.

EDIT: browndog and threeminutesboy beat me to it.
