JP guitar question

Let me first say, this guitar is truely amazing.

I stopped in at guitar center the other day to pick a new sound card. I asked if they carried music man guitars and they did. SO I was happy because I thought they didn't. So the guy shows me the "platnuim room" (meaning the high end guitars), a JP. THe thing was the finish, it was almost a quilt/flame top. THe only other ones I've seen were the solid colors. He said this was a special edition guitar or something.

SO I was wondering if music man just released a set of new colors of the JP. I know their working on a new model, but I just want to make sure. THe guitar was like $2700 listed price. I remember seeing JP for less money.

can someone provide me with some insight. It was a grey/bacl finish. really nice looking guitar. I'm pretty sure its my next guitar purchase at this point.

That's the JP6 BFR. It is indeed the new guitar.

ahh, yes. I've found it now. I went to wild west guitars and saw the same one, just differen't color.

Why is the price another 800-900? Is it the finish? What new features?

We don't talk retail prices on the boards (Just a FYI). The BFR JP F-1 is a entirely new guitar. It has the secret mahogany tone block a 10 top flamed or quilted maple top. The neck is made out of mahogany instead of birdseye maple. Also it has a push pull pot to activate all 4 coils at once. And it is a finished neck now instead of oil/wax.

Also where are what Guitar Center did you see the BFRs at. I haven't seen one yet.

yup... like the guys said. its an all new guitar... and im not sure but are all the F1's loaded with a peizo as well?

Yea Phatty. I remember reading that here somewhere before. The only option is the colour. Everything else is pre determined.

I guess what you're essentially looking at Mr. Quilt Top is the JP Mk II. I myself am hoping to order one soon. Very hot guitar indeed.
