Guys, check this out. This friend of mine is going to start, I repeat, START playing guitar. I told him to go Music Man all the way and he just bought this.

Is that a crazy first guitar or what? I'm so hyped for him. He got a great deal on it, too.

Hell - that's a crazy 10th guitar!!!

Awesome! I love it when beginners play on something that is profesional quality. They're a lot more likely to stick with it.

NOW - you gotta help him with setup every week or two and show him what to do and how to do it - then it will become a lifelong hobby for him. Nothing entices people to play like a well made well set up guitar.

And I had to start with a crappy guitar. At least he never has to learn what brands not to buy. He started with the best. So now he doesn't have to waste money on the rest:cool:

I started with a total POS (Ibanez ripoff), but it still is one of the better playing guitars I've ever played. There are aspects about it that no other guitar meets... for whatever reason. Regardless, that's a great first guitar!

If only all of us could be born into guitar that way!
Sure would have saved a lot of agrivation, not to mention some great players that probably went on to something else.

That is one massively impressive first guitar!!! Your buddy's chances of sticking with the instrument rose massively the moment he got that baby. Hopefully he is aware what an ubelievebly amazing guitar he has and enjoys the living hell out of it.
I wish I had started out on something like that when I first started, but it was plywood city for this sorry sod (an EBMM EVH copy incidentally)... well, at least all my guitars since then have been decent enough ;)

Cheers
