JP Neck Pickup

What pickup is this?

Has anyone else noticed how unbelievably amazing sounding this pickup is?

yep it sounds incredible! im pretty sure its 'based' on the dimarzio air norton pickup... but customized for petrucci.... atleast thats what ive read.

+1 for the sound. I think it is the most musical neck pickup I've heard (although I'm sure that the rest of the guitar has a lot to do with it...)

It's just so fluid and clear, especially if you do like JP does and switch it in above fret 12 for solos.

Hell, I even use it below the 12th more than ever.

Do you sell the "John Petrucci" pickups that are on the MusicMan guitar?

These pickups are only available as original equipment on John's MusicMan guitar. The 6-string neck model is very similar to the Air Norton™. The sound of the bridge pickup resembles the Steve's Special™, although it is not as close. The 7-string Air Norton™ is fairly close to the MusicMan neck pickup, and the Blaze™ bridge model is the closest-sounding available bridge pickup.

God, yes! I love that pickup! EXTREMELY "Sing-y" and uber-smooth!

That's the only pup I kept stock. I replaced the D Sonic with a Steve's Special... Kept the neck, but raised it by 1mm. It's magic now...

I love the tone of my JP neck pickup. I use it to solo all the time.

just curiosity: did anybody replace original pickup set on JP with active EMG's ?

I know, it may sound like a profanation, but just wondering how would it work
