JP neck treatment

Ok guys ive only had my guitar less than a month, but id like a little insight on the whole gunstock oil/wax treatment for the unfinished necks as i will be performing this maintence in the future, and want to keep that smooth as silk neck in tip top shape....anybody like to give me a step by step walkthrough i guess ill order the Birchwood-Casey oil and wax as EBMM recommends.....be specific guys if you can as i get paranoid about these things and id hate to screw up my neck!!!

In addition to the Birchwood Casey products, Murphy's Oil Soap, and EB Wonder Wipes, a couple of times a year I like to sparingly use some 1500 grit ultra fine sandpaper on the back of the neck for that brand-new smooth feel. Obviously, this applies only to the unpainted necks.

Thanks guys that video pretty much shows you step by step LOL!!! Even i can follow that !! Since my guitar will be pretty much new the first time i condition the neck is it nessary to use the sandpaper if my neck is still smooth? Id like to avoid using the sandpaper untill its nessary...so can i just skip that step, and mabye like agt stated use some ultra fine paper like once a year?

Something I find is really effective is super super fine steel wool against the maple neck. It really visibly pulls off the grime and gets you back down to the wood. I'd recommend this over sandpaper, honestly. Oh, and if you're neck is that new, you don't need to do it yet. Wait a while. If you play all the time, every day or so, I'd suggest doing it every 4-6 mos or around there.

EDIT: Also, if you use steel wool, put some tape (preferably painter's tape) over the pickups... the magnets will draw little pieces of metal from the steel wool and it's nearly impossible to clean out later.

Thanks guys ...well i baby my stuff, i really dont see the need for sanding it anytime in the near future, but i will be keeping up on the cleaning and waxing....let me ask you the video uses Murphy's but EBMM suggests lemon oil if its not too dirty...is the lemon oil better to use if my neck is pretty much clean and then the gunstock wax?
