Did the saddles change on the JP recently? In most pictures I notice that the JP's are coming with the piezo saddle even if the guitar doesn't come with the piezo option. However my JP is three years old and the saddles are plain (no piezo insert).

Just curious.

I'm assuming the new saddles will fit my bridge? Are they any better than the original saddles (better tone, less string breakage)? Can I get these direct from EBMM?

The saddles have not changed at all. The non piezo's look like the piezo's. Pictures??? Play your guitar. Then put it down. Pick it up and play some more. Watch the old Sat. Night Live episode with William Shatner. Play more. :D

Hi Jon,

Mine do not appear to be original then. That might explain a few things.

When I got the guitar it was not set up very well. The intonation was way off, but I could not move the saddles back because they were raised too high and hitting the trem cover. So I had to raise the entire bridge (it sits much higher than most JP's I've seen) just so I could lower the saddles to give them enough clearance to be moved back. Still the guitar isn't intonating very well.

Can I get the original saddles?

Those are not the original saddles. To be honest, I don't know if we sell the saddles. Call customer service at 1 866 823-2255.

Thanks Jon!

But, the point is moot. I traded the guitar in today at the Philly Guitar Show...

...for a brand new fully loaded JP6!!! Pearl Redburst with JP custom inlays, matching headstock, and piezo!!! :D

And yes, it has all the right parts. :)
