Question JP Trem change?

So, I was gone for a few years for various reasons. Mainly lost my job and had to sell most of my stuff. So I was Ball-light and couldn't look at this forum out of jealousy! So, I may have missed a thread on this, but it seems that last year when the JP guitars switched to stainless steel frets, the trem plate also changed. I did not notice this until now (now that I have a new JP6). Why the change? What did I miss?

Sorry for the blurry pics, but you get the idea from them. I'm referring to the plate. It's now rectangular where it was not before. Looking at the trem post closest the trem bar hole.

Yeah apparently the trem post on the treble side was moved out wards because in extreme dive bombs the high E saddle would contact the trem post.

Unless I misunderstood?

Hello. I'm about to buy a used jpx and it has the old tremolo. Is this really a issue i should worry about and buy one with the new tremolo or not a issue at all? I wonder where and how much it costs to replace the old tremolo for a new one. Thanks.

I never experienced this issue on any of my JP's (and I've had three) fitted with the original trem. In fact I would go as far as to say it is my favourite EBMM trem of all time, just wish it was fitted to the other models.

Thanks for the answer. I never heard such thing also before this post but after it kept me wondering about it(if musciman did some minor changes it was for some reason i guess...) and doing some research i saw some posts of another foruns relating this and the saddle touching the trem post but with some adjustments then it's fine(if it needs any adjustment in the first place). I just want to hear your wise and experienced opinions because i'm kind of new with these guitars and trem. Thanks and feel free to keep posting those opinions jpx or jp6 owners.

I "always" get bad luck with here and there minor detail flaws so i had to be shure before i buy this one(let alone the money i'll spend with it even after trading it by a esp horizon nt ii blue aqua, i mean, esp plus some more money to have the jpx in mint condition of course), which i absolutely love looks and specs wise but i played yet just a little bit with it(i know it's the most important part). Keep those opinions coming and if i buy the jpx i'll make a ngd post

EBMM JP Set up questions

Here is a post with this problem. I guess a proper setup solves the problem backing up the high E saddle from the trem post. But i guess i'll think twice before i buy a jpx with the older tremolo and if musicman changed it is to prevent problems in the future... Oh, well, decisions... lol.

Having the jpx a few days now, it is indeed a great guitar looks, sounds, specs and playability wise but one thing i noticed was the access to higher frets is not so great. Maybe is kind of getting used to(i used to play an esp horizon nt-ii neck-thru) but i find the neck joint(it is a shaped nd carved 5 bolt on but even so) a little obstrusive getting to higher frets. What do you guys think about this? Thanks.

Other thing i noticed is that the 5 bolts/screws on the back of the guitar, on neck joint, are slightly marked like they were unscrewed once or whatever... but the arm or neck seems in perfect condition like the rest of the guitar(i buyed used of course). Why would they unscrew the arm? Setup purposes? The serial plate number matches the authenticity card that comes with the guitar. Thanks a lot for your answers.

Now i see that the only minor issue with the jpx version is the 5 way switch that do gets in the way in certains kinds of play when in the neck position. What do you jpx owners think?? I do, really!!
