My JP13 has no sound from magnetic or Piezo side. tested other guitars and cables, switched the toggles and turned volume and tone pots. Even changed out the battery with a brand new one. Was working and for no apparent reason, it went dead silent with the snap of a finger. Has anyone experienced this? How can I reprimand this? I know some repair guys.....do I need an authorized repair shop? Would you recommend shipping it back to Ernie Ball?

P.S. I even sprayed DeOxit in the input jack.

Thanks in advance.

I'd call/email MM Customer Support first and see what they say.

I'm not sure what else I'd do for troubleshooting ... maybe ensure the wires from the battery box aren't loose, and you're getting power to the board, etc.

@Tazz
I haven't. Unfortunately, lack of funds to get it even looked at but that will change shortly. Coincidentally, I contacted Musicman about a possible issue with the neck being warped. They told me I had to shell out $1400 for a new neck......AND I had to surrender the old neck to Musicman. Ummmm.....I own the neck so why would I pay for a new one and give up the old one? If I had been granted a new neck for free then I could see giving it up. Between the electronic issues and the neck I have been put off of Musicman guitars. Love the brand and the designs. Playability like no other.....but if I have to worry about future issues cause I have read too many instances with these guitars. I was in the market for a Majesty a short while back and then I started seeing a lot of other owners revealing similar issues. Too risky, unless you have more than one or have electronics expertise. I'll keep ya posted after the diagnosis.
