JP15 Sahara Burst in Gloss Finish??

I just purchased two EBMM guitars, one of them being a JP15 un Sahara Burst.

The unique thing about this one is its got a gloss top.

Anyone know if they offered this at all? All the info I find states that the sahara burst is a matte finish. BUT this one is a gloss top?

Was this offered at all or is it possible to send to EBMM for an upgrade to a gloss top?

As far as I know for the older ones, the Teal, Blueberry Burst and the Buckeye Burl (Japan Exclusive) were the only ones to come with a gloss finish. The newer ones added to that list being the Cerulean Paradise, Blood Orange. Purple Sunset, Eminence Purple, Paradise Pink and some of the dealer exclusives. So I think Johnny may be right on the previous owner having done that himself, regardless though that's a really nice looking top on that one and in my opinion the gloss really adds to it.

I have had two JP's in my life so far, both of them had matte finishes on them. The first one was a JP6 Stealth Black and the second one is a Sahara Burst. I have always wanted a gloss finish and yours does look great indeed. The thing I am not too happy about is that parts of the matte finish turn to gloss after using it enough, due to your hands and pick touching the surface, and it looks a bit odd then under the light sometimes. It does add 'character' and 'mojo' to your guitar though, so that's good
