I am so impressed with the pickups in my JP50. You guys that swapped for CL/LF are crazy! (of course I have those in my 2 JP's and love them... LOL)

I was having a blast playing through the Vox AC4 and then the Mesa Lonestar today at Guitar Center using the middle position on the JP50.

How could they possibly be bad? I don't think BP would allow the Music Man name to appear on any part of them if he felt they wouldnt be a great guitar for the money. I have yet to play one with good action, but none of the guitrs at my local GC ever have good action, so I definately don't blame the guitar for that one.

Has anyone compared the guitar with standard pickups to the same guitar with CL/LF? Is it the same custom center position?

i didn't get the thing with the middle position, pat park explained that is simply parallel position instead serial.
that being said, I can't understand how could it be possible, because the switch is a cheap one, and we all know the only one that can do these things is the 4pdt, usually the dimarzio ep1111.

I had the factory PUP and they were ok, great distorted tones, I think you can compare them to super distortion pups?
I had them replaced with crunchlab and liquifire, rewired following the old scheme and everything got fine, and the middle position sounds 'glassy' without further wiring. I'm really gettin an hard time understanding that process, but nevermind, the sound is killer!

I personally think that the swap with the jp set is reccomandable if
- you are a die-hard dream theater fan
- you have a mesa and want that exact crunch sound
- you want complex sounds and extreme clarity

otherwise, sometimes when playing good screaming bends, i prefer my good ol duncan jb .
The stock pickups sounds (to me), definitely more airy and rock than the cl+lf set.

if you're in the USA, PM me your address and I can send the correct arm. If you're in a different country, pm me your country and I'll put you in touch with the distributor in your area.
