Hello
I bought a Mystic dream JP6 two years ago..My friend in work, who has 3 Lukes now, recommended i should get one,as he had one.
Being a massive Petrucci fan,and first seeing the guitar on the Budokan dvd,i took the plunge
WOW!..I couldn't believe the quality of the guitar, the thin quick neck, and just how comfortable it is to play
I bought it with the piezo, matching inlays and headstock,as i work in a guitar shop,so i got a good price

I simply am in love with this guitar.I have a PRS,which i will sell soon
Anyway,as my friend said, once you get one,you will want another, and i swore that i wouldn't,but he was right,as i have seen so many other comments on the forum saying they now have 2,3 12!

My point is,i do ramble!
My Dad sadly passed away from cancer last year, and he left me some money..So i thought it would be wonderful to buy something to remember him by,as he was the one who got me into music, and he was so supportive of my playing...

I put in an order with strings and things in the UK,last week for a BFR JP6 in cherry quilt, right handed
They told me it would take 16 weeks, and as you can appreciate,im so excited to get a firm date,so i can put Europe on every day..The Final Countdown!!
This guitar looks truly stunning, and it will mean a lot,the sentimental value, which you cant put a price on

I just wondered if anyone on here, maybe one of the Mods,or a gentleman i've noticed called AJ,could help me out please

On another note,Musicman guitars, are simply the creme de la creme of guitars..I've played lots of guitars, expensive ones, and not one can compare to these finely crafted works of art
Keep up the good work!

Welcome to the forum family, Barry!

So sorry for your loss (lost my Dad to cancer 4 years ago) but what a wonderful way to remember him. My Dad's photo is on the inside of the back plate of my Silhouette Special - he's with me at every gig, every rehearsal, and every lesson. :)

Hi Kenji..Thanks,and i hope you got your new additions!

Hi DrKev,and thanks for the welcome, good to be here!.That's a really special and touching thing to do with your Dad's photo on the guitar

Hi Tollie..Thanks,and im struggling a lot these days, with the loss of my Dad..It's the little things,i remember, that really get the old tears flowing..I believe they say,it gets easier,i dont really think so..It just gets a little less painful

Anyway,i dont know whether any of you fine gentlemen can help me,or know of anyone who can on the forums?
I work in a music shop,so i have a heads up on the progress of my Jp6 BFR...Strings and Things rang me to tell me that,my guitar is due to be made this friday, the 28th March!
Now,the wait is killing me,and to make it worse, with dangling the old carrot on a stick..He told me,that it takes a week to make the guitar, and providing they make the shipment date,i COULD have it at the end of April.
So naturally im cautiously excited,as if it doesnt make the shipment,it wont be till June
Not a problem,as he told me it takes 16 weeks, but it would be a lovely, early present

So,does anyone know when the shipping date is in April?

Oh and i had the most wonderful evening on the 13th of April, when i got to see one of my guitar heroes,JP,and the boys in Manchester
I have the live dvd's,Score,Budokan,New York, but nothing prepared me for the most transfixing show i've seen in a long time
I wasnt ashamed to say,i had tears, when JP played..Anyone who says he has no feeling,or soul, needs to get their ears tested!
His intro on the Spirit Carries on,the Score version, has always given me goosebumps, and the solo always moves me
The lyrics mean so much more to me now
Dream Theater are truly an incredible band, and i hope they tour the UK again soon...3 hours of blissful, musical euphoria
I went through a phase, were i was going to give up guitar, and when i heard the solo in Hollow Years, from Budokan,i was that blown away,i ordered the mystic dream, and two years later,im so close to number 2!

Sorry to make this so long, but one word on guitar shops..I work in one,and i have never worked with such narrow minded people
A friend,who i work with,brought in his custom made Suhr,and it was a beautiful guitar..Like Musicman,a real players guitar
Not my thing, but i really appreciated the craftsmanship
One person i work with who shall remain nameless was heard to quote
"Suhr are like Musicman, and Ibanez, soulless and lifeless"

Guitar salesman should have an open mind when selling guitars,or any instrument
I hope none of you fine people here, have had to put up with this negativity
