I just put up a video of my brother and I playing an instrumental section of one of Bad Salad's songs.

This is my heavier more metal/prog/experimental band.

This is just a demo, no keys/vocals recorded. The full song is about 11min long and will be part of an album we release hopefully next year.

The 3 of us have an albums worth of ideas right now. We hope to complete the lineup by the end of the year so we can finish our demos and lock ourselves in a studio to record the album.

About the gear...

Mesa Boogie Mark IV + 4x12 rectifier, recorded with an SM57 into a Presonus Firebox.

Mic was about 7-8cm away from the grille, on axis, on the edge of the dust cap. I've been experimenting alot with mic positioning and this seems to be working nicely for me.

Settings:

Lead Gain: 8.5 pulled
Lead Treble: 7.5
Lead Bass: 3
Lead Mid: 5
Lead Drive: 7.5
Lead Presence: 1
Lead Master: 3

Pentode, SimulClass, Harmonics

I don't remember the exact OUTPUT LEVEL right now, but it was low. Something like 1.5. I can't really crank it in my apartment.

GEQ:

80hz - Slightly above the middle line. (the line is still hidden)
240hz - Middle line
750hz - Halfway beetween middle and bottom
2200hz - Middle line (maybe a hair lower)
6500hz - Just bellow middle line (just enough for the line to show up)
