Hi There,

As I had announced before I was expecting to get my first EBMM guitar, a JP6DD, and I did! I know...I know...more pictures, even though I posted some before..heh. I want to get some more nice ones, but it's a bit ugly outside at the moment.

Well the guitar arrived in perfect condition, small problem though, took it out of the bag to play it a bit, and the strings seem to have been cut a wee bit short. I just want to know what these shipped with or are supposed to have? I have 9's and some Hybrids handy to re-string it if need be, but it's just the low E string that needs replacement at the moment.

Thank You!,

Nice!

yeah, I figured that out after the fact. I kind of suspected though. I'm so used to other types of locking systems..hehe. Still, as soon as I turned the low E string a tiny bit the frazzled end came out. I tried to put it back in, but it was loose frazzled pieces (if that makes sense) was all that was holding the string in, so I figured I'd just pop a replacement on it. These locking tuners are very very cool.

I replaced it and proceeded to shred for a bit. The low strings seem to buzz a bit, I'm going to give it a few days or so while I stretch the strings out and see if it loses the buzzing, if not I'll run it to a tech to get it setup properly : )

Thanks for the reply!

The low E in a set of hybrid 9's is the same gauge as the low E in a set of 10's. A 46 I think. So you should be ok. And just so ya know, the action is set exactley the same as John Petruccis. Super low. Low enough that the strings will infact buzz. However, it shouldn't be noticable when played through an amp.
