Question JP6 graphite nut problem

Hi, A while ago, the D string started to buzz from the nut end, so I propped it up with a little bit of paper, eventually the A string went too, so I had the nut replaced.

The new nut lasted about a month before the same thing happened again,

Is there a better method then propping up with paper?

And didn't think EBMM do graphite nuts. Aren't their nuts either black or white melamine? Melamine is pretty tough stuff. Where did you get the nut from and who installed it for you? Any new nut, no matter where it comes from should last way longer than one month.

I just assumed it was graphite, its a replacement part, compensated tuning etc..

I ordered it from EBMM, its the exact original nut that was on it, they come as 7 strings and you have to get the 7th cut offf.
Was installed locally by a highly competent tech.

OK.

You should call customer service for their advice but I would go back to your tech. If you have a problem after one month the words "highly competent" get a question mark. No nut should be unuseable after one month. However, the good news is that any highly competent tech will know this, realise that there was a problem with the initial install and can make it right.

Its melamine. I would question the tech, perhaps the nut slots were cut to low.
