Any plan to allow non-trem bridges as options? I am really learning to love my JP6...always played awesome...but the Piezo did nothing for me through my Vetta...but through my new rig - Triamp MkII - Bogner 2x12 - G-major - BBE...the Piezo is unreal!!!

I could easily start replacing my Wolfgangs with JP6s if they had a hard tail option... Like the tuneomatic bridge...

I'd like to see that too. There have been hints that there might be something at NAMM, looks like we'll have to wait and see.

I kinda doubt they'll be making any JPs with a hardtail. I am just opining here, but I doubt it.

However, you could consider using the tremol-no when it comes up for sale here pretty soon. OrangeChannel mentioned it a while back, and I think Kevin will be selling them through a distributor soon. That would pretty much convert you over to hardtail without having to heavily mod the guitar.

I had mine blocked off, and extra springs put on the claw. it only lowers pitch and I can bend the 5th string all the way to the 2nd without the pitch being effected.

I thought there had been some hints that when the neck-through JP didn't happen that the bolt-ons might be shipped with the drop sonic pickups, and that would be the biggest change.

ahh... rumors.

Personally, I don't see the Tremolo on the JP as an issue. I don't use a tremolo much, just a little vibrato - like the intro to DTs Under a Glass Moon. I prefer a hardtail too, and have disabled the tremolo's on my Strats because they were way too unstable - both with tuning, and being too sensitive to movement - the pitch would change with palm muting and aggressive picking.

With the JP I don't see any of these issues - it's solid, low profile, and I almost never touch my tuners once the strings settle in. Plus you don't get the scratched up hand from the fine tuners and set screws on other trems.

I'd rather see EBMM make it prettier - a quilt top or transparent stain finish to show the natural wood grain.

My 2 cents

I like my trems and as a result would not be interested in a JP hardtail... although the idea is intersting and Id love to see how it would be done.

Every issue you mentioned about Strat tremolos is easily fixable. I have two of them and the tremolos easily work as well as the JP's trem. And no scratchy screws, either (I bought the correct lengths :D ).

hard tail

I play some metal and I find that my EBMM guitars really don't suit that tone. The EBMM models I own _are_ the best in my collection.

I would like:
* mahogany S-type body
* neck-thru (set neck maybe)
* string-thru hard tail (vintage-style)
* EMG active humbucking pickups
* one volume control
* toggle switch
* two 9v battery compartment
* no pick guard
* mahogany neck
* 24 jumbo frets
* ebony board
* dark natural finish
* locking tuners

That should do it.

Good stuff folks - thanks for chiming in. Would love to see the powers that be add to this..but... Anyway - it's not so much that the tremelo is a huge issue - I've actually developed a love for the JP6 tremelo -..although I need some nut sauce...but it's a great trem. I just like the tuneomatic bridges....and if I'm not going to have a trem on the guitar...think that would be a great option. Great for fast palm mutes...easy to string -- easy to intonate...etc.... And I don't really want to retrofit my guitar with a trem fixing device....I don't know...if I have a trem...I'll use it...but I like having a few guitars that are hardtail...and I truly love how the JP6 plays and feels...after having it a couple of months. The only thing I don't really like are...the location of the toggle switch... And....still not sure that I'm keeping the pickups... I've sort of gotten used to the SD JBs...and seem to keep gravitating to how those sounds....I feel like the JP6 is a bit muddy ...

But since I'm breaking in a new amp...I'm waiting to make that call.

Easy to see that the JP6 would be a best seller - as pointed out in another thread - great endorser...and superbly crafted guitar. I truly love just handling it - it's a work of art.

Just brings the sound I like for that kind of music. In combination with the EMG 81 it has a kind of "knock" when you hammer on the low notes.
