Help! JP6 : High E keeps breaking

My JP6 (w/ piezo) is about a month old; I purchased it brand new. Once the strings are about 4-5 days old, the high E string breaks during a bend + whammy.

I'm pretty rough on my strings - I like to bend them far and vibrato with the tremolo bar. I never had this problem on any other guitar, and the JP6 is by the far best guitar I've owned, so I assume there's something I'm doing wrong.

I'm using Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys, the bridge is set to recommended height, the bridge is even and flush with the body, there is enough relief in the neck. I've checked everything. It always breaks right at the saddle where the string bends around it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jam, just to confirm you are bending and pulling up on the bar at the same time?

I've never had a string break on my JPs, but like Scooby said, your best bet is to contact customer service... they're really fantastic help.

Thanks, yeah, I've spoken with them before. I just thought someone might have a quick answer for me. I'll give them a buzz tomorrow.

And yeah, I'm pulling up on the bar while bending. I'm rough on my strings, but they normally didn't break on my other guitars until about 2 weeks. I play about 3 hours a day, so my strings wear quickly.

To help them diagnose the problem ... does the string break at the ball? (In which case the RPS strings could help), or does it literally break in the middle of the wire? If the latter, you might just have a burr on your saddle, or somewhere in the assembly where the strings are touching.

Give it a really solid look, then they can help you work out a solution.

You could be putting too much tension on the string and causing it to break. The JP raises pitch a decent amount with the floating tremolo and trying to add a bend on top of that is probably more than the string wants to handle.

Check the saddle where the string breaks for any burrs (grooves), and if there are any then have them polished out by a good tech. If there are no burrs then you are simply increasing the tension on the string too much and something has to give (it just happens to be the string).

I'm in the same boat, jam. I break a high string once a month or so.

I just replace them and move on (assuming you dont have a problem such as a groove that is cutting the string).

You said you're rough on your strings. Maybe it's time to turn the roughness down a little
