...and can give an objective review of each one compared to the other 2? Anyone? I don't mean those who have gone to a guitar shop and tried the guitar. I mean those who have owned it, and have spent more than 72 hours with them and has noticed all the subtleties that you'd normally miss.

I expect that they're all 3 different guitars in their own merits. I'm also trying to justify NOT having to buy the other 2!:D

You are bang on in that each of the guitars have their own merits, and to some extent their own personality.

The JPX is sort of the pinnacle of all the work done so far, with the chambering, the tone block and the larger body. Also it has an ebony fretboard and jumbo frets, making it even more unique than it's brothers..........

The BFR JP has the tone block but also has a different body shape so the feel is different too. I have the Koa version so it also has the ebony fretboard. Tone for Tone, there seems to be subtle differences between the JPX and the BFR that I can't seem to pinpoint, both of them have rich warm tone, but maybe the JPX is a bit "fatter" sounding? They both sustain like mad.

However the neck profile is the same, but the Jumbo frets on the JPX definitely add to the different feel.

This isn't to say the standard JP6 is any slouch. I have the Rosewood neck version and it plays very nicely. In my opinion, the body sits more comfortably thanks to the deeper forearm contour. However it doesn't have the tone block, which I think adds to the richness and sustain.

I hope this helps somewhat, if you want my personal opinion (and that is without really know what your preferences are) I would say that the BFR JP6 would be a good choice if you only had to choose one but the JPX is a close second, only because the jumbo frets may not be for you.

Guilty.

I currently have all 3 versions of the JP and even original pickups, D-Sonic and newest pickup combos so there is a lot of variety!

My fave is currently the JPX. It's very smooth - love the neck pickup. The least favorite out of all of them is the Dsonic equipped BFR. It just doesn't have the punch of the new pickups. The new pickup combo reminds me a lot of the original JP pickup sounds. I feel that the Dsonic was more of a transitional pickup until JP had a chance to find what he liked in the alder/maple bodied guitars.

One of these days I want to record all of them and post clips so you can hear the subtle differences. IMO, if you like bling go for the BFR. If you wanna save some bux, the standard JP is no slouch. The JPX is a little different feel with the larger frets.
