I was tightening up my tuners (I like them nice and tight) and then I stopped and backed off, afraid that I might crack one if I got carried away. Anyone ever broke one? I'm used to metal tuner knobs and was thinking what a bad bad BAD thing it would be to crack a knob on my newly acquired baby.

I've never heard of that happening. At the absolute worst, you may over tighten the string, and have the string break at the peg.

The good news is that the replacements for the pearl tuner knobs are relatively inexpensive. a new set will run you around $15.

Cool, a set of 6 for only $13. Not bad. I'm liking the ebony too, might be a cool change, for $23. Thanks.....
