Hey guys I have a JP6 that has the rosewood neck option. I was just wondering if this would be Crunchlab/Liquifire or the older D-sonic and custom neck pickup? I'm pretty sure it's the CL/LF, but I want to make sure. Build date is 3/10/09. I should have pulled a pickup when I changed strings but didn't think about it. Thanks.

Texas Finally!
Very nice guitar and great pic, but I may be wrong but I think the switch to CL/LF was June 09, either way congrats!

Well I pulled em to check. Aint much of a mystery sort of guy. It is the D-Sonic and custom neck. I thought they were the CL/LF. Kinda sucks, but they do sound fantastic. I have thoughts of swapping, but will probably just leave em.

Anyone knows when the switch from the CL/LF happened?

I called CS and asked about my JP6 pickups as well. Gave them my serial number and was told it was made on November of 2009. The pickups according to them were the CL/LF combo since that was the time they moved to using the CL/LF pickups on the JP6's.

@Primo Following your post, I contacted MusicMan too. I gave them my serial number and they told me the PUs were D Sonics.

Here is a pic of my JP6, the PUs look like CL/LF... Confused!

Me again :D

Reply from Dimarzio:

The neck pickup is very similar to an Air Norton. The bridge pickup has the same performance as a D Sonic (DP207F).

The BHWP3 bridge is a D-Sonic. The BHNP1 is the Pertucci custom which I believe is esentially an Air Norton with different pole pieces. Physically these and the CL/LF look exactly the same. As the CL/LF set is basically a tweaked version of the D-Sonic and Petrucci set.
