Help! JP6 Rosewood won't stay in tune!

Hi!

I have a problem with my JP6 all rosewood neck.

When i play the guitar in a normal fashion it works like a champ, and never goes out of tune, but the second i use the whammy bar for divebombs etc. The guitar goes really badly out of tune.

Usually it's the low E and the G that is affected. The wierd part is that those strings goes out of tune sharp, not flat.

Earlier, the guitar was so stable tuning-wise that i only had to tune it every other week, but now it's terrible. Been playing my ibanez instead because of it, and that's a shame!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried Customer Service yet? They're extremely quick to respond and will take care of you.

since you're an international customer the standard protocol is to get in touch with your region's distributor for support issues. you can probably get their contact info from your local MM dealer

See, that's exactly the kind of advice we want to avoid giving. He hasn't said anything about changing string gauges, he was quite happy before and there many other things that it could be. So let's let the customer service guys give their advice before anyone suggests touching the nut.

Its easy to forget the forum is moderated by the brand!

I apologise, wasn't suggesting he do it I was just trying to be reassuring. Working in a shop that does repairs, and getting asked this kind of thing over the phone (without being able to see it I mean), these kind of answers just seem to jump up as a reaction. I guess it is reassuring to a customer, issues can be assessed when it's in hand.

All beside the point, I'll have some restraint in future.

I keep reading about great customer service but 2 out of 2 times that I contacted them, I got no help. In fact, the first time I was indirectly told it was my problem when it wasn't.

I surely won't be contacting them again to make a fool out of myself.

Customer service wants me to take it to the dealer.

The funny thing is that i just got it back from the luthier. (EBMM dealer)

He did a complete setup on it, including fixing a wire on the piezo that was loose.

Another thing i experienced with the guitar before i took it to the luthier, was that the neck was kind of sticky and sweaty. Feeling like some kind of over-saturation of oil, wax or something. I am religious about washing my hands with an alcohol-swab before playing and wiping down the neck with a dry polish cloth when i'm done.

The guitar has never been gigged. Never leaves my appartment, it's in mint condition and has never been dropped.

I have talked to many of my friends who's playing the guitar, but nobody has a clue of what i could be.

Starting to get a little bit on my nerves, to be honest.

I had the neck refinished, re- oiled and rewaxed and polished by the luthier, and the sweaty neck problem went away.

Do you think that this could have anything to do with the stability of the neck in regards to enviroment and temperature? making it over sensitive?

Or is it just a case of worn out springs in the tremolo?

I have seen over the guitar thorougly now, and it seems as if the tremolo settles in a different place everytime i use it. (very small differences, but maybe just enough to unsettle the tuning)
