Hello!

Think ill start with introducing myself, since im new to these forums.
My names Adrian, from Norway, 19 years old and a proud owner of a EBMM Pearl Blue JP6.

Now over to the problem. The thing is, the guitar just won't stay in tune no matter what. It's annoying because the guitar is the best there is, never gonna buy anything else than MM in the future. But I wanna get over with the problem.

I can't use the trem much, because it'll result in the guitar going out of tune.

Any expert help here?

Here's the beauty :D

Thanks,
Adrian

Have you changed the strings recently? Did you change string gauge? Did you properly stretch the stings? I've found that it takes me a few days to get the strings really stretched out so that mine stay in tune.

Typically once you get an EB setup it'll stay in tune no matter what.

It's the same problem if the strings are new or not, doesn't matter if they are 4 days old or 4 weeks old, always the same. It's ofcourse on it's worst after a recent change of strings. I use EB super slinky 09-42 strings.

Oh and I forgot to mention a thing on the above thread. Does the nut have anything to say in the matter? Because it makes a sqeak sound when I use the trem aswell.

Oh yeah, I was going to mention the nut but wanted to rule out the string thing first. If you have binding (squeaking) coming from the nut, then yes, that could be a cause too. You might want to try some nut lube. Is it the original nut? How old is the guitar?

or maybe clean the nut....i had that problem with mine, if the strings build up gunk and you dont clean it it moves up to the nut, and if its not the nut and if the tuners are to lose get a small flat head screw driver and tighten the screw on the knobs, cause after a while of tuning it gets lose.... hope that solves your problem :)

Sure does.
If a string is sticking in the nut, you can have all sorts of tuning issues

Get yourself some Big Bends Nut Sauce (Big Bends Nut Sauce Home Page)

or to start, get a sharp B2 Pencil and get plenty of that graphite into the nut.

+1 on the Nut Sauce
Or if you can't find Big Bends Nut Sauce (there's no way for me to buy it in Croatia), try finding GHS GraphitALL Guitar Lube

You may want to find a guitar tech who knows what they are doing and see if the nut slots need to be widened slightly.

I find that a little bit of lip balm (chapstick, carmex, etc.) will lube the nut just fine. Lip balm is full of oil and wax, which are just what the doctor ordered.

I suggest you contact customer service.

I had that issue when i bought my Luke II and Colin from CS in cooperation with the German distributor helped me to get rid of this.
The Customer Service at EBMM is absolulutely outstanding and I'm pretty sure they will be glad to support you in getting your problem solved.

Besides: the thread title seems a little unfortunate... just my 2 cents!
Anyway: welcome to the forum!

are all these solutions (lip balm, nut sauce, B2 pencil) EBMM approved? will not void the warrenty, will it?

One thing that worked for me in the past (in addition to the nut lube) was to "break in" the tremolo. Go have a whammy fest. Spend 30 minuets practicing your favorite vibrato techniques. Tuning be damned, explore the limits and boundries of your machine. Learn to imitate an assortment of sounds ranging from the beautiful to the sonically disturbing. If you're hesitant to do this then ask yourself, "What are you saving it for?"
Discover a new tool or two to put in your guitar playing tool box.
But most importantly,
Have Fun!

Hehe, going all out with the trem sure is fun, but won't do any good when I'm in piezo mode doing chords :/ Or in general playing with clean.

probably you need to re adjust the bridge saddle on each strings until the pitch is right. i don't think it's all about the nut though.

^ It's a combination of factors, mostly the butterfly flapping its wings in the Artic, or do I have that wrong?

Chaos theory is making your guitar go out of tune is all I'm saying. Customer service can help you.

Here is a dumb ass obvious thing that happened to me. One night at band practice, I noticed that one of my strings would not stay in tune at all. Upon further observation I found that the Shaller tuner wasn't tightened enough. Duh.

Not saying you are an idiot like me... but check the easy stuff first.
