A '93 N4. Still have it. I don't play it as much these days cos well, it's old and not as versatile as my JP6. But I still love having it around and it has a rawness that I love. I guess it's kind of like the difference between driving a DB9 or a 911 GT3. One gives me finesse, control, clarity and speed where as the other just gives me funky blood and guts. I love them both.

I was playing an...

Ibanez RG 520.

Back then I went to a local music store with my dad... He decided to buy a Yamaha drum kit for my cousin (our drummer at the time). While they were packing it up for us I was at the guitar section playing around. My dad asked me if I liked any... I said the RG 520 was awesome. He bought it for me! Pretty cool day, gets me smiling when I remember.

A few years later I bought myself a JP7, the first of many MM to come.

I had about 9 other guitars a month ago. The two main ones were a Frankenstrat I made from various pieces I've gathered. The other was a Charvel San Dimas clone.

Since I've purchased the JP6, I've sold every guitar but the Frankenstrat (which I'll never let go). Both it and the EB get pretty equal playing time.

Sorry for the finger prints.

I hope I count even If I haven't yet gotten my JP6.....

I have played my Epi Les Paul for years. For the last 3 or 4 years I've been tweaking the s*** out of it because I just love that guitar. I've dropped various pickups in and out and I'm satisfied now with my dimarzio Breed and Humbucker from Hell combination. More recently I've replaced the tuning machines and even gave the electronics a total overhaul with a stewmac wiring kit. It's pretty versatile but it'll be my drop tuned guitar when the JP arrives.

heres' an older pic that I upped a while ago.

Texas Finally!
Well, i own several different EBMM including a JP, but before I ever bought a Ball, I had in no particular order a Les Paul, a couple of Strats and a Schecter Spitfire, in all honesty the schecter was the best of the bunch but once i got that first EBMM they all went buh bye:)

Before I had my 2 JP6's and JP7 I had 2 USA Custom RG models, an Ibanez Universe the black and chrome one, and a plain black Ibanez RG 7 string. They only made the USA customs a few years because they had the tension free necks which were patented by another company or person don't know the details. I liked em alot but after trying out JP at Guitar Center I loved it and sold all my Ibanez guitars.

If they made the JP6 in a hard tail, I would be all over that in a second. Then I would have no need for any other guitars.

Tremol-No™

I'm about a month away from ordering my own JP6 (fully loaded Pearl Redburst, btw), and right now I'm playing Ibanez RG4EX1 and RG7321. I remember when I played a JP6 at Guitar Center a while back, and it blew my Ibbys out of the water. I really can't wait till that guitar is in my hands.

That's a sweet looking San Dimas clone. I used to be a hardcore Jackson/Charvel guy, and still get a bit nostalgic looking at strat-head Charvels. I remember dreaming about those becoming normal production models and being told time and time again by the Jackson folks that it would never happen again. Fast forward to the Fender buy out, and well.. I'm not playing Jacksons anymore, am I? :D

Well, before I bought my first JP6 I had two morses and a silhouette already.

BUT if You mean the typical metall/heavy rock guitars - it was a 1989 Ibanez Jem 777VBK, which I sold to fund the JP6. Up to this day, this remains my best move in dealing with guitars:)

I thought they licensed those necks or had them even made by that other company...

It was a pretty sweet guitar. SD JB in the bridge and Hot Rails in the neck. OFR w/ a D-Tuna and Tremol-No, and just a single volume knob and 3-way. The neck was unfinished and eventually backbowed to the point that it needed replacement. I ended up selling it at HC w/ all my others.

Kramer American Pacer Deluxe... The neck profile is somewhat similar to the JP and it also has a floating tremolo. It is HSS and 22 frets. I'm a 24 fret dual humbucker type of guy, so after I played the first JP to come through the store it was just a hunt to find the right color JP for me (which I did!).
Kramer American Pacer. and Baby Taylor. i thought i was the only one, pete.

They are fun guitars, and I still have mine. I swapped out the singles for HS-2 and HS-3, and the bridge is a Steve's Special. The original tremolo died because I beat on it too much, so that has been replaced, too. The JP is my number one for sure (although I'm playing the Dargie LUKE tonight because I broke the high E on both my JPs).
