JP6 V Luke 3 Neck ergonomics

I am interested in anyone’s takes on the JP6 (used non roasted) neck compared to the Luke III new.

I will be going and checking out both models to compare for myself, however the store is about an hour + away and I will be limited in time, so going into this I will appreciate anyone opinion on this.

I currently play LP’s and a G&L Legacy, just looking for something a little more comfortable and fast

Those are very different necks, regarding the feel, all music man necks feel great when finished with tung oil and that special wax, but a roasted feels even better than a non roasted unfinished neck.

I think both guitars will offer you comfort.

I concur with this ^^^

""I think both guitars will offer you comfort."" - This may or may not be correct for YOU. Neck profile 'comfort' is a very personal thing.
EBMM necks are consistently some of the best in the biz. But they also cover a broad range.
IMHO, the JP6 neck is closer to an Ibanez thin/fast neck. I'm finding the Majesty neck to be more comfortable to me, whatever the small differences are.
The LIII neck is rather narrow to my hands, and has a very noticeable "V" shape near the nut. Some days I love it, some days not as much.
Overall, I'm consistently comfortable with the "C" shape of the Albert Lee necks. They feel like home to me.
I don't think I'm as sensitive to all this as much as some folks, and I'm certainly no expert.

Best advice, as always, is try as many as you can and just be honest with yourself as to what makes YOU happy.

Yes about the Ibanez / JP6 comparison. Also, Luke fret's are not jumbo which makes a difference. It's really best to try those guitars out, it's close to impossible to describe a feeling your get when you play with a specific neck with your fingers and your background with guitars

are you saying that fret wire is smaller / I have been researching this for a while and it seems to indicate the JP6 has the larger stainless steel fret wire and the Luke has the smaller non stainless steel fret wire

Thanks / been playing for 25 years, long enough to know that if one of the necks feels right it's coming home with me not passing one up again

JP6 is similar to the Ibanez Super Wizard neck. I have a RG3550 , and the JP is a bit thinner on the upper frets

Some don't like the thinner fret wires of Lukes, I don't mind. There's definitely no need to have jumbo frets for vibrato -- case being Steve Lukather, maybe one of the best vibrato players out there.

I have both, and i like em both lol

The JP neck is thinner and wider at nut, and L3 is more rounder "vintagish" soft V feel... U`ll have to spend some time if u decide to switch between guitars but u`ll be ok in a couple of days... It all comes down to personal preference, MM necks are the best out there and u cant make a mistake with either...
