I have a JP6 that I really like. I'm thinking about another guitar, a JPX. I know what the physical differences are between my non-BFR JP6 (w/piezo and olderd-sonic PU's) and the JPX but I can find any solid references on tone differences. Any there any comparison sound clips or videos showing the tonal differences that someone can point me too? My searches have been unsuccesful. I can only find clips of one or the other. I would particularly be interested in an audio/video with an A/B comparison on same amp setup so it's apples to apples.

Thanks!

If I get a chance I will try to put something together for you....

I will say if this helps, the overall tone (to my ears) on the JPX is smoother and a bit more rich....

I would describe the tone of the JPX as having more depth. Not really smoother IMO, as I think for leads basswood's smoothness is hard to beat, but I would surely say the tone is richer and fuller. Probably a bit tighter as well. The JPXI would be even tighter than the JPX if thats what your going for. Either way you can't go wrong. I love them both, but I prefer the JPX just a bit over the JP6.
