I'll buy the lefty JP6 or JP7 the first day that ernieball offers them.I hope they'll see that there is a market...

"patience for the lefty, it will be time to JP6 as well, heheh..."

Mmm... lefty JP6. Tasty beyond reason.

I too am looking forward to the lefty JP6. I have actually ceased all other guitar purchasing, because after playing a right handed version; it made me realize it's exactly what I want in a guitar. JP6 + Strat + Mark I Reissue = HEAVEN

Guys as much as I would love to see more lefty EBMM models, I'm pretty sure that we will never see a lefty pet... The reason: the hardware. My understanding from previous posts by BP is that having hardware such as the bridge manufactured in lefty configuration is very expensive and not profitable considering that the lefty market is about 2% of their total sales.

Have you noticed that the current models offered for southpaws all share the same hardware (i.e. stoptail or vintage trem). My guess (and this is just a guess) is that it makes it more profitable since they don't have tons of different hardware to manufacture for leftys. The pet on the other hand has a unique bridge, totally different from all other EBMM bridges...

I'm still crossing my finger for the new Luke to be available for southpaws (please, please, please:) )

Who knows maybe the AL or silhouette (I would love to have a 24 fret guitar added to my lineup) could be offered as well...

Cheers

that percentage, I guess, is for the ernieBall sales only.

Lefty-friendlyness is the key to increase that percentage and increase the profit from lefties. Which is also why carvin makes much much more profit from lefty sales.

Why Carvin isn't THAT good.

I actually checked into a left handed Carvin guitar; because they offer 24 fret guitars, and they're all right. I asked if they'd do a floyd rose left handed along with a few other queries; and it's going on a month with no response.

I appreciate that they must be busy and all; but look at the customer service response that EBMM gives us all. I suggest the best thing we do is all hope and send monetary and sexual bribes to all necessary to get a left handed JP6 or JP7 made... even if it's a limited edition. I know that pestering won't help. I've tried pestering everyone there is to pester. For the time being; I've settled for a Dargie Delight Luke in LH. It's no JP6, but it's still an EBMM.

To go the Carvin route may be okay; for a temporary solution. I've been holding out for a JP6 for the past couple years; and am willing to wait more though. I must mention though, that it is a good point brought up that if awareness was brought to light that EBMM was manufacturing such a fine 24 fret HH guitar with what is all ready a unique trem; it would draw people in. To throw something like that into the mix would be a big HIYAW to the competition; because the JP6 is what I consider the be-all-end-all of right handed guitars.

What do I know? I'm left handed AND too far north to have an opinion. Hahaha.

Mt hair-brained scheme...

I was actually stressed out about getting the LUKE; because I was told the order might have been lost and the cutoff for the DD was finished. I nearly had a ****fit. My fears and curiousities were put to rest this week, thanks to BETH and DARGIN. They're my angels in six-string e-form.

I got to thinking about this whole left handed thing with the Petrucci model. I got a little whimsical with my thought and came up with this notion... based on my being the king of the company.

I'd do something like this:

"J-Nick and jimmy-jengas; you're persistant bastards and this move is partially to satisfy customers but more to shut you two up and stop you from clogging the forums with your wrong-handed shinannigans... Being that I'm the king of the company, this is how I roll: I'm going to order my minions to make three left handed model JP6's. You each get to buy one, and we'll give one to JP as kind of a 'yeah, it's backwards but you can probably play better than us on it anyways' kind of present. Each of you pick a solid color, accept that there will be no piezo and understand that two things will be happening: a $500 upcharge will be put into play for your both being wrong-handed (and to cover R&D for the left handed version of the JP trem) and it is expected of you both to buy said guitars and pimp your left handed JP6's around the continent. One of you is on the western region, and the other is on the eastern. As long as you're both willing to commit to everything stated; we should make some wrong handed magic."

Then I'd get the minions make 3 left handed JP6's and expect photos and feedback from how much press and photo time the super special models are getting.

That's what I would do if I were king of the company. Sadly, I am not. I sure would like to see JP open the door and accept the parcel from UPS only to react with a booming "those crazy bastards sent me a backwards guitar! What the hell am I supposed to do with a backwards guitar? Looks like I'm making a new crazy record on my backwards guitar. Now, back to swimming in my big pile of riches!"

I should really be sleeping at this point...

Buy a RH JP6 or JP7 and play it in the mirror................I'm not funny!

I did hear that the piezo cant be wired with a LH configuration on this forum. Does that mean you cant string a piezo upside down?

What stops a lefty buying a JP and stringing it upside down? That's a serious question buy the way :p.........would it just not be practical? If you keep and eye out ou can sometimes see a solid colour JP with no frills being offered on ebay and they're not too expensive. Perhaps if you could find a battered one and ive it a go the wrong way round. I'd love to know if it would work. Not that I'm left handed or anything, but I do sympathise.

Well Jimmy I will let you do all the hard work since the JP would not be my first choice if I could pick any EBMM model I want... However, if from your repeated lobbying efforts the JP would ever be offered, I would probably buy one just to encourage the release of more lefty models...

Cheers!

What would it be then?

I've been under the impression that the JP6 would be the ultimate guitar for me for a few years now. Having played one upside down; I fell in love with the neck and the trem system within seconds. As far as finish is concerned, either white w/ matching headstock, or Egyptian Smoke would be my choice.

If the JP6 wouldn't be your number one choice, I'm curious as to what would be?

I'm hesitant to pick one because I seem to change my mind pretty easily :D I've got to say that right now my choice would be the 20th silo. It gets such a good press around here these days plus I would love to have a 24 fretter...

I would also love an AL... just like Sir McCartney but will probably settle for the next best thing: a maple board silo spec SSS (unless I change my mind again:eek: )

For now I'm just impatiently waiting for my Luke which will be awesome!!!!

Cheers!

Waiting for LUKE!

I'm in the same boat as you, my man. I've been waiting for my Dargie Delight LUKE since even before I ordered it. I was so excited to order the guitar that I didn't even sleep that night. I drove over to the local guitar store at like ten in the morning; becuase I sure didn't want to miss my window of opportunity!

Those 20th Anniversary Silo's sure are perdy. I love the look of them and am sure they play like a dream as well. One day I'll try one upside down!
