I have BFR JP7 in Amethyst Burst (sweet color!) serial number F21292, but it's on it's way to MM right now for a new body :( Pics when I get it back.

New Tobacco Burst BFR 7 is being delivered today...pics tonight when I unbox it.

its just a coupla watches lionel....poppa likes watches!

I know BP... I know... But as you know, this economic climate is hitting us HARD. So, a BFR might be a long while more for me... Unless I hold out, and ONLY aim for the BFR and nothing else... Which might be a good idea...:D

Lionel - right now I have one BFR JP7 and one standard JP7 with an older PU. I have to decide which one I will keep, since the financial situation (and wedding plans) do not allow me to keep them both.

So far I have (again) only found out, that the decision between the two is essentially that between a strat and an LP: if You want to have a superstrat with a very beautiful, deep tone, go for the standard. If You prefer an incredibly precise, resonant and fullblown (on some smaller amps overblown:)) LP - go BFR. And I don't know yet, what I actually dig more.

I will have two days to make a decision - if You need any additional info, You are very welcome.

Thanks for the info... Honestly, wood-wise, the JP BFR isn't any different from the 20th Silo except for the mahogany neck. I've also played a BFR side by side my modded 20ths before, and the tones don't differ that much. Tone-wise, I'd prefer a more piano-like tone, which so far has pointed to the JP7 more than the BFR.

I have a JP6, and I actually would like an extension of that onto a 7, since that's your quintessential superstrat right there. Since I hardly play 7s, I would want only one. So, logically, the standard JP7 would be my choice especially since I love that forearm contour.

But then again, I love the idea of the toneblock and a full mahogany neck and figured top, except I'm not too crazy about the BFR's body shape... So, while it only makes sense that the BFR would be THE ONE to go for, there are many things the JP7 has over the BFR which I prefer.

Everything seems to be pointing more towards the JP& than the BFR. I have another quick trip to Tokyo planned this late May/June, so maybe I'll go see what they have in stock, and perhaps I'll just trust my ears this time more than anything else.:p

Perhaps I'll just go for a JP7MD (just to keep the consistency) and swap the D Sonic with a Blaze Bridge... Heh...

Just PM'ed with Dan in Customer Service. Looking at 2-3 weeks to get my guitar back, but I can't live without my Balls, so I bought another one today. I'm officially addicted.

Just got the word. They're gonna ship my guitar back next week. Pics when I unbox it.
