I just got a 2005 JP7 with piezo and there's a very noticeable background rustling/crackling noise above 10W. It's not a static hiss. It kind of fluctuates - sometimes getting quieter - but doesn't change when the strings or other metal parts are touched or not (so I don't think it's a grounding issue) or when I pull on the wires/cables. It doesn't seem to be caused by a saddle, unless it's all of them?
The regular pickups are quiet.
Am I missing something? Is it to be expected at higher volume with this piezo system? I had this model about fifteen years ago and I don't remember dealing with something like this (still cursing myself for selling it).
