Hey guys! I haven't been around here in an age, but as always its my go to place for help!

So I have my JPX 7, which I love to pieces and sounds amazing, but I can't help but wonder about my truss rod.

It's currently turned all the way anti-clockwise, as I need a little more relief on the board, I have a reasonably heavy hand. I'm using the 10-62 7 string set, so I should be getting a decent amount of relief. However, the neck is close to straight, and the truss rod wheel is able to be turned with bare fingers.

Does anyone know if this is a common thing, or a way to resolve the issue? The truss rod does get tension and the wheel gets tighter when the rod is tightened clockwise!

Any input appreciated,

Adam

EDIT: I should also note, the majority of my buzz is around the 8-12th fret. Bottom frets and top ones are perfect with no buzz so it's not my nut, as I just had my luthier replace the compensated nut as my D string was cut too low from the factory

This is something that more than likely members here could not help where as a call or email to customer service would:)

If the truss rod is backed off all the way, you can try pulling the neck forward to encourage a little bow. If the truss rod is sticking, that'll help. (I do this after I've made truss rod changes, to encourage the neck to settle quickly.) If you don't get any movement, you should drop the EB customer service guys a line.

On the buzzing: the truss rod helps on the lower frets. If you're getting buzzing on the first few frets, truss rod is the solution. If you have a straight edge on the frets 1-15 or so you're aiming to see a small gap between the ruler and frets around the 7-9th fret, etc.

Once that's adjusted correctly, if you're getting buzzing on the higher frets, you need to adjust the saddle heights to get results.

If you've just had your guy put in a new nut, I would bring it to him for the set up.
