I own 5 sig guitars and not one of them is because of the artist but because of the specs the guitar offered. So what you can't find video of Petrucci playing it if it speaks to you make it your own! I am certain you do your own thing as there comes a time when we take a little from all our idols and create ourselves. I do not mean that in a disrespectful way, but I have been playing my JP a lot lately which was the one EBMM guitar I was not crazy for because of the thin neck. But I honestly am lucky if I know two Dream Theatre songs. As far as blocking the trem as already stated that is very simple to do.

Contrary to others I love the 5 way switch on the JPX. I prefer it over the 3 way toggle. It's not in your way especially when playing arpeggios. I constantly hit the 3 way toggle on a standard JP. In my opinion JPX has the nicest color out of all X guitars however it has big frets and the neck feels different from the JP or JPXI. The neck feels thicker (at least a lot thicker than the 05 JP). Initially I was thinking that the neck is totally different from other models (more like the PRS necks) but now I'm inclined to think that that's because of the tall big frets. By the way the tremolo is great on JPX.
