Hoping someone on here can help me out. I've sent an email to AJ but have yet to hear from him so hoping someone can help me out in the mean time.

I'm rocking a JPXI-7 with EB 10-56 Cobalts. Now the low b piezo element doesn't come into contact with the string at the action that I want it at. I can raise the saddle height up to the top but then my action becomes horrible especially when this guitar is meant to shred.

I've tried all combinations of lowering the bridge (which doesn't seem to like going lower into the body effectively limiting the range of motion) and raising/lowering the saddle, increasing the distance back and forth of the saddle. It seems like the breaking angle of the string is larger than what is required for the string to touch the element.

Here are some photos.

Anyone else have this issue? I recall having this issue with some JPs I've owned before but that was with the old bridge design. I don't remember what i did then (about 4 yrs ago) but hoping to solve this to get some acoustic love out of that low B.

Hi! Actually your action seems to be really really low! The only thing I would think about, as you already said, would be to lower the trem, as for you raising a bit the saddle is not an option. Though I am surprised that you managed to have this saddle so low without buzz.

By the way, in the pics is looks like it actually touched the piezo element, or is this an optical effect?

The action is normal or maybe a bit on the higher side I'd say. I've got lower action on my Jacksons.

It's an optical illusion - the string doesn't bend down enough to touch the piezo element.

I've had the exact same issue on many Petruccis. Typically, I put a large wood shim in the neck pocket to raise the entire neck while keeping the angle the same. This allows you to raise the saddles while keeping very low action. Good luck!

I've talked to AJ about this and will see if this is the only option. I've done this in the past for other bolt ons.

It may sound strange, but why not (pre)-bend the string so it will touch the piezo? Do some extra reverse dive bomb?
I've tried but then the string relaxes after its tuned back up since the tension its under lifts it back off the saddle.
