Just a quick question.... is it possible to replace the stock pups with PAF 36th anniversary pups in a JPXi - will it give me a more vintage tone?

Why wouldn't you be able to replace them? If that's what you want to go for than of course. I'm sure it will give you an interesting tone with those tone woods and lower output pickups. Go for it! :)

With pickups you just never know until you actually put it in there and play it through your amp.

I've tried them on my Axis they are close to axis original PU
very good PU more treble and more definite than AXIS
but Axis PU are ...Axis PU:eek:

Big fan of the 36ths here. For the price, try them and see. Check my old posts, I have posted a few reviews over the past few years. I love them in my rosewood Axis SS.

What do you like about the 36th's tonally in your Rosewood? I have one as well and wondered about swapping for
some but have never bit the bullet so to speak.

I think the presentation is brighter than the same pups in a Les Paul. Very snappy, almost Tele-like sounds out of the bridge pup.
