Well I had started a thread before about the differences between the jp models and waiting for the new stallion... The thread eventually was closed cause of some controversy. I was trying to decide whether the new stallion would obsolete some of the others with the new body shape etc. Everyone says no so I hope this is true cause I just ordered a jpxi. It just seems to be the perfect fit with the flat radius fretboard and stainless frets... Still kinda wish it had the bfr top, but then it would probably be another $500. I hope I'm not kicking myself after its release, but really for my needs these two items work for me. It will be fun to experience a ebmm with the stainless frets. Hope anyone that has one can comment on this model... I can't find many reviews.

I've owned a standard JP and several of the BFR quilt/flame topped JPs and played a JPX extensively and I can say without a doubt the JPXI is my favorite by far. Flatter radius, ebony board, SS frets, and better designed trem are all WIN!!! Guitar rocks, you won't be disappointed. And make no mistake, it still has the maple top just like the crazy quilt and flame topped BFRs. You'll love the finish, very unique and ultra nice in person, pics don't do it justice!
