Just a quick technical question...

Hi everyone, not really a concern, more of a query... My Classic Sabre has massive, immense tone, but the output seems a little on the quiet side. Does the 2 band preamp have a trim pot inside like I have on my Status basses?

where do you have the EQ set? It's Boost/cut without a center detent, so if you have them turned down, below half way, you're actually reducing signal.

EB preamps do not have an internal trim pot that allows you to beef up the basic output level. In my experience the output level without using the active eq to boost anything is about the same as a passive bass. except for certain passive basses that have MASSIVE output.

My experience is that the sabra is a litl bit less loud and in your face than the stingray...

Thanks for that - Yes, its about the same output as a Mike Lull passive Jazz with Aguilar pickups. There are no issues with the bass - Pickups are set at 6-7mm and 3-4mm respectively and treble & bass are usually set at 60% & 75% respectively.

I no problem with the output, as I have plenty of power in terms of amplification (TC BG250 combo and Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 with two 12" Neox cabs.) I was just mainly curious as to why the output is so low in comparison to my other instruments.

Looks like it's just how it is - I love the massive wall of tone, though. Thanks for the replies!

MMs relative to other axen are rather low on background
noise at any comparable volume setting. So, no problem
cranking the amp to get your volume, assuming acoarst
a fairly decent amp.
