Earlier in this form I reported the rougher neck of an Axis guitar compared with a Luke's neck.

I took the Axis back to my local dealer and he agreed and shipped the guitar to the official supplier, who finetuned the neck. Now after polishing and finishing, the neck is really very nice. Still surprised, that an Axis with such rough neck left the factory and was able to go through quality control (if any).

But now, guess what ...?

I picked up the guitar this morning, and as I said, the neck is fine now. BUT now the guitar shows the "Petrucci stress crack" reported a few threads below! I can not believe this. Does anybody observed a crack on an Axis, too? Is the problem really related to the case (and I do NOT believe, that a 'generic case' is a good solution for such an expensive guitar), or were the screws overtighten when attaching the neck to the body?

I am currently quite disappointed and considering to return the guitar.

Thanks

Yeah, I heard on the JP forum that those cracks are not exclusive to the petrucci model.

You should call ernie ball on see what they can do for those cracks.
