I love the bursrs , I grew up with them and to me it's how a bass "should" look. All but two of my basses are bursts. ..but I'm old school.Black/rosewood/tort is a look I love but I don't have one .I was surprised that black/maple was the big seller.

Black can be very classy. What i really dont like are the burst colors, in particular with a white PG...but thats only my tastes, so don't get me wrong if you own one !

I think Black is the choice of metallers.......Usually people playing metal dream of black body pickguard and maple neck! This was the Ray of my dreams while I was playing metal as well....

As for the bursts, I think they're gorgeous and they really show off the beauty that is Ash. Mine's a honeyburst(in fact the most beautiful honeyburst I've EVER seen)
but with a black pickguard. i will post pics soon enough. I'm getting a digital camera.

I have 2 basses that are Tobacco Burst and one that is Blueburst. The other 4 are solid colors. My Stingray is black w/rosewood and my SR5 is pearl blue w/rosewood. My other two basses are solid blue. I do wish my SR5 had a black pickup in it. I really like blue with a tort pickguard, but it just won't work with a white pickup.
