Hey all. Still waiting in AGONY here for my Pearl Redburst Petrucci  , However I knew when GC called me in April telling things were on schedule with EB and told me late May after getting off the phone with EB, that this wouldnt be likely...as I've read on most posts, its about a 3 month wait (as for Petrucci guitars it seems)...which would bring it to June 19 (approximately of course), as it was ordered on March 19. Late May has now come and gone, so I figured it wasn't going to be here yet anyway

But, I'm just curious if the time of the year has a lot to do with it's arrival timeframe, realizing there aren't as many major holidays this time of year compared to the fall and winter, back to back. What's been your experiences in delivery time, whether its a Petrucci or not, and what are my chances of a June arrival...and is there anyway to find out where in the building process they are? I'm assuming most of its already together at this stage, its been about 2 1/2 months so far.

I'm in agony over the Silhouette I've order as well. Your story doesn't make me too happy. I ordered the silo near the end of April, so the 3 months for me should be July. If they're taking longer.... :(

Maybe GC is just giving you info just to shut you up. You never know with that store. Either way, though, it will be WORTH the wait for the both of us, even if it takes an extra month. These guitars are worth waiting for.

Good luck guys - the waiting is always the worst part. I'm not sure I'll do it again - I'd rather buy something I can play, pay for and walk away with. If it's an EBMM all the better - I'm sure you won't be disappointed with your new guitars- lookin forward to the pics

I feel for ya guys!!!! And i think its pretty lame that these music stores don`t have EBMM`s in stock! I know some do,but all the ones that are in reasonable driving distance for me dont! My local GC used too,but for some reason dont now! Every once in a while a used one will come through "which is how i got mine!" but i think its a cryin shame that a quality company like EBMM gets dissed! I was at a local music store a couple of years ago and asked if they sold Musicman guitars.....the guy said nah,we used too, but we dont anymore because nobody wanted to buy them!!!! I laughed and walked out!

The wait is very good. I'll have no problem waiting when I do finally order mine. If it takes a year, then so be it. Do you think people that buy other competitor's guitars salivate as much as us? No because they are a dime a dozen (not literal of course). But the only issue they'd have is finding the right store with the right colour.
I checked out a dealer in a big city, and of course they had a minimal amount of EBMMs on hand. Why? 2 reasons. First they get a about 4 EBMMs per month, but they fly out of there faster then they can get them. Second, when I talked to the owner, his opinion was that they are pretty much a custom made-to-order guitar. People that want one have a very specific list of what they want for options.
Therefore when I finally get to that point of ordering "what I want", I have no problem waiting in agony for something that will keep me happy for a very long time to come! A-La-Carte please! :D How long?..........That will be fine thank you. I know you will do a great job!

I mean I'm totally cool with the wait. When I first went to GC to get more info about the pricing and such, they made a few calls and were trying to see if they could find one (JP) with the options I wanted: Pearl Redburst, Dot Inlays, Piezo, Matching Headstock...they weren't able to locate one in any of the stores they contacted in my area, so I figured, "well, if I'm gonna spend this kind of money, i'd rather get the guitar I want with the options I want, rather than just taking another cuz I didn't want to wait." in fact, at the time, none of the GC in Connecticut where I am even had a JP in store. A few months before, they did have a JP on display...I think it was a Mystic Dream, although I don't remember, but it eventually..and it was there for quite a while...when you first wakl in the door, they keep the MM stuff and those OLP Petrucci guitars.

I have a good purchase story to add to this while I'm thinking of it: I remember when I went there to purchase the guitar, it was funny: I told one of the sales people, "yeah, I'm interested in ordering a Petrucci" and he says, "oh we have some in stock"...and as you might have guessed, he dragged me over to the OLP's and he goes, "we have 3 in stock right now"......I said,"umm....no, no, sir, I'm talking Music Man here, the real deal" I tell you, i dont know what others experiences have been ordering the Petrucci at GC, but when I told them I was ready to order, it was like their eyes rolled to the back of their head..kinda like this face  ....its like the Haley's Comet of guitar purchases in there...they don't come around too often, and they were like "Well, Ok, sir step right over here" It was hysterical.

I have found that the wait is more like 4-41/2 months from order to actually getting the EBMM in your hands.

Oh, also, I read somewhere on here, I guess it was a post from a while back. One night I was just looking at some of the old topics on here, but these guitars (Petrucci especially) are being shipped with foam now...I'm assuming this was due to that whole stress-crack thing that I'd read about that was a hot topic on here for a period...I'm assuming this is still the case: The guitars come in the hardshell case, and that case is then put into a larger cardboard box filled with foam (I guess there wasnt foam added before this). Can anyone confirm this, or how exactly its packaged and delivered? And I guess, along with that, am I better off carrying the guitar around to gigs or rehearsals using a gig bag or something else...is this case, even though its hardshell, but not snug to the guitar, good enough to lug around locally? I'm assuming it is, it can't be THAT bad of case...I could understand long travels cross country where others would be handling (or throwing in the case of UPS) the packages would warrant something more snug to the instrument. It seems to me the stress crack thing was the shippers being aggressive with the packaging and the guitar moving around in the case, but the foam has diffused this issue it seems, b/c I havent seen anything recent on this in quite a while, which is great to hear, but I'm curious about this case for "everyday" use. I've heard varying stories. This guitar will be my new baby, and I'm going to treat it like gold, so I'm trying to prepare for every situation, and what you guys have experienced with these standard SKB cases...I have stuff from them for my army of Ibanez's, but those are a standard shapes that these cases can literally fit dozens and dozens of models very tightly. I wonder if stuffing these cases with some soft clothes or rags would help lesson the movement, just throw a bunch of em in there, especially near the neck joint.

The Petruccis are shipped in their case which is put in a box. There is no foam.

The Pet is shipped in its hardshell case and a form fitting box, no foam, peanuts or bubble wrap. To combat the stress cracks they changed the inside of the case. The oldcase used to be very form-fitting allowing no movement, the new ones allow some 'play.' Contrary to belief, I think the rigidness of the old cases made for more stress cracks. Can we get some confirmation on this from our crack staff?

Edit: Sorry for the duplication, Jon beat me to it!

I was just reading down to the end and Ernie beat me to the "foam peanuts!"
I was going to ask if Jon sent us the ones that get sent to him! ;)

Fogman, you read my mind.

I was going to venture a guess that ALL Music Man guitars are currently shipping with foam peanuts, until the supply sent by Koogie runs out! ;)

ProgGuitarist76,

The SKB case is nice. It's light, yet sturdy. I tote my JP around in it all the time. I have never been a fan of gig bags.. never even owned one.
