Fair enough, sir. Not much more to know really. Was just wondering about the bridge; floyd, EBMM trem, or hardtail. Since it's silver I'll assume it was an Axis Sport (assuming they made them in 95/96?). Which means hardtail or EBMM trem. And that could mean humbuckers or p90s.

Assumption is the mother of all... :)

No worries though, you've given more than enough interesting insight. Thanks again!

BP said Axis. I think if it was a Sport he would have said so. So going by what he said I would think Floyd with HH.

I wish I could try out an Axis over here, they are so hard to find and I would love to check out a Music Man guitar.
Working on my drivers license now so I can visit guitar stores around the country. :D

I'm always wondering what JM uses 'of stage'. It's really interesting and I would love to hear his side of the story. Every time I hear EBMM guitars they just sound 'finished'. There you go, that's the guitar you need, of you go! :D

Yep exactly my thoughts! And I'm with you, not trying to rewrite history of Mayerdom, just interested in his, seemingly intimate, history with ebmm.

many famous players own our stuff...a lot of it ends up on the record but not on the stage

That is not surprising at all! You and the EBMM family are a class act for not making a big deal to the music press that many famous players use your guitars where it counts and when they're not under contract to appear playing something else... I appreciate the (somewhat) privileged info you've shared on this Axis and its place in the artist's life. I had never heard of it before, nor had many Mayer fans I'd imagine.

It's funny what's kept out of interviews, magazines, etc.

Also, somehow I ended up on youtube and saw a brief factory tour from PremierGuitar. Nice to finally put a face to the Chief!

Actually Mayer has mentioned his 25th in a few interviews. And it makes its way on to the stage which is cool.

Yeah! For sure! The good press from him to EBMM is great. And that silver Axis was truly a treat to find out about. Our little (publicly accessible) secret :)
