As you may know (or not), I've posted many threads regarding the JP6 and how I've been saving for one forever. Well my dream finally came true.
Last night, my dad said he hurt his back at work, so he needed me to help him with the new entertainment center for our fairly new TV. Later on, he seems to be struggling with a box, and tells me to help him. We go into the living room, and he says, "Ok, I'll hold the box, and you reach in and pull." So I put my hands in the box, and realized that it wasn't wood in there. I pulled out about a quarter of the guitar case and flipped out in my head. It was completely unexpected. It took me a few seconds for my brain to compute what was going on. I had just pulled out the case of my very own fully loaded Graphite Pearl JP6.
After repeatedly thanking my parents, I grabbed the guitar and stared at it for about 5 minutes. Then I took it up to my room and plugged it in to my pedalboard. Even through a Boss MT-2 and a crappy Crate practice amp, it sounded amazing. It just sounded massive. I still haven't tried it through my dad's Bassman, but my friend and I are jamming tomorrow, so I will do so then. Everything is perfect, from the neck to the body to the bridge. The piezo sounds great, the JP shield inlays are very cool, and Graphite Pearl is much cooler in person. I'm glad I went for that color. Then I turned on the Chorus and Delay, and it sounded even bigger.
So I would just like to thank my parents, `Music Man, John Petrucci, and Bass Central (that's where my parents ordered it from) for this great instrument. I can't quite express how happy and thankful I am. My parents said they gave it to me because of all my hard work and I've been deprived of any gifts for 14 years, but it sure paid off!
I know the rule, no pics, no guitar, but I don't have a camera. Sorry...
EDIT: Here are the pics taken by Bass Central, if it helps at all. They really don't do the color any justice. Fifth from the bottom of JP6s. MusicMan Guitars
