I just got an AXIS super sport off ebay which cost me £580, not a bad deal I thoughit and it looks and plays real nice, but the action seems higher than what I was expecting, would anyone agree, as I'm not familiar with these guitars, I have heard that with hardtails you should be able to get a really low action, anyone know how this is done, is it easy - or do i simply take it to a techie.....I don't wanna knacker it up....

Cheers

Welcome to the addiction! I am sure there will be someone with you on that. I play JP-6's. Congrats on the guitar!

I'd suggest taking it to a tech for a setup.....The climate where you live may be different from where it was sent from, and that can reap hell on a guitar. It could be something as simple as needing a truss rod adjustment, and unless you know what your doing, take it to a tech for that.

I've fiddled around with the barrell nut near the neckand it hasn't done a thing, also - what is the purpose of the nuts behind the tuning pegs - are they supposed to lock the pegs, if so mine dont lock - when they are screwed right down >

There should be no reason to wind strings on the pegs....the tuners are locking meaning the thumbscrew on the back whentightened (do not over tighten) pushes a piston up inside the tuner and holds the string in place. If you're trying to change the action you'd use the bridge saddles' height adjustment. Truss adjustments should only be used to add relief or straighten a neck.

At first glance, I would say that that looks like a high wire to me... :)

However, I can see that you got the pics issue resolved. Good deal...remember 100K/below, can attach to the post....100K/above, picture needs to be from the Internet.
