Just Got Back From S.M., D.P. & Y2D!

When he's playing at the Y2D launch website. He plays them pretty much back to back. It could be a switch in settings or pickups but I found the Y2D to be brighter.

I remember as a youngin, Steve always being mentioned in Guitar Player...in fact one article comes to mind where he put the hammer down on sweet Eddie VH, for that one country/chicken finger pickin tune VH did a while back...I think he felt that Eddie was capable of more...anyway back to Steve...I always knew what Steve was about, I knew of Steve over 20 years ago, however my road in life has left me living in a void for the past 15-20 years, thus I am only now getting to really know Steve and his music...
 
He's always been cast aside by ignorant opinions.
I remember in high school (long time ago!) some of the guys making fun of him.
I could never really create an opinion either way since I had no access to his music. I honestly never heard him play until he was with DP. Then I thought wow!
But in all honesty, I think it's because he a very talented and accomplished musician. Steve is not a rock star. He lacks the arrogance, ego and attitude that is required to market yourself as such. He's a nice guy; and we know where nice guys finish. :cool:
Please do not misunderstand what I am saying here. I love Steve Morse and his music, and especially what he's helped create with EB. I hope to be able to see him in concert someday. Preferrerably without DP. I want Steve, not Ritchie's hits.

Raz, Steve put the hammer down on Ed? That sounds out of character, he never even really put the hammer down on Yngwie when Yngwie went out of his way to insult him.

That's why that article sticks out for me, I can't remember exactly, and he may have been nice about it (what I meant was he was adament about that song), but I believe he showed some displeasure with either the song or something Eddie did or said...now again this was years ago, and I may have been puffing the MD back then :D

i've never heard anything but praise from steve about eddy....
in fact..... i'm looking for one particular article in musician mag where steve very much defended ed about a namm show event w/ eddy, steve, and albert......& there was some critisism toward eddy not keeping up......and steve's reply to it was VERY defending of eddy and his unique quality & style.
i'll link it when i find it......
never seen steve put the hammer down on anyones musicianship......

Well it was a while ago but I do remember two things the song Finish What You Started and the fact that it wasn't what it could have or should have been...again, maybe put the hammer down wasn't the right choice and it was a while ago...sorry for getting y'all tight up in such a binding mess :cool:

LOL - must be something about playing the guitar the smallest minutiae is a big deal. No wonder Eric Johnson obsesses about the batteries in his effects.
