Just got my JP7!

Hi everyone, I'm new here, just got my first JP model, a lovely lovely lovely JP7 in mystic dream. It does however have a small ding, I've already finished stressing about that.

My main concern is with the piezo pickup, I'm playing through a normal guitar amp so I know I'm not getting the full awesomeness of it, but while using the piezo pickup one string (namely the G string) sounds quieter than the others. It kind of zings too whenever it's picked (moreso when I'm just playing the open string), if anyone has any idea what's going on or even how to fix it that'd be top.

I'm not sure about diving into customer service as I'm in the UK and it wouldn't be too cheap.
Just found hairline finish crack at the neck joint too. The original ad for the guitar stated perfect condition. *sob*
Nevermind, does anyone have any thoughts on the piezo situation?

The finish crack is pretty common and happens to a lot of guitars.

I'd still contact customer service! They're really awesome!

hairline crack is just a stress crack. It happens when the neck expands at a faster rate than the body or the body shrinks quicker than the neck. Nothing is wrong with the structural integrity of the guitar it is purely cosmetic. If you don't want it to spread, make a small indentation in the finish at the far end of the crack, then take a Sharpie or something and darken where it turns white because of the primer.

That sounds like the kinda thing I would get very wrong (I'm like that). I had the same cracks in my old Jem so I'm aware that it's common, but...it's my JP7

Mystic Dream is such a cool color. I've been close to selling mine, but one look and I change my mind again. Congrats! I've been lucky and not had any stress cracks on my JPs so far. I've got a new Lava Pearl JP7 on the way and i'm worried about it possibly having one! Hopefully my luck will prevail and it will be AOK. Maybe i'll get some birdseye on the neck! I've not been real lucky with that part so far. No biggie!

because i've got a jp le06 that was built on the 14th of august 2006 and up to now is still perfect.
shuold I still worry or am I safe?

In my experience the guitar either arrives with a stress crack or doesn't develop one. But then, I've been getting through a guitar per year (I'm too much of a poor student to have more than one!)

when I went to my local dealer to buy my pet none of them had stress cracks, so I figured they came after a while.
but mine was built more than 1 year ago, so I don't see why the paint should crack now, right?

But, if it does crack, then who cares? It's just a guitar.

(A beautifully crafted guitar, but still just a guitar. It's not like it's the end of the world.)

You can't honestly expect your guitar to remain perfect?

If you've had your guitar for a year and it is still in perfect condition, then I would say that you are one lucky man.

I dunno, I just don't understand the big fuss about it. It happens to tons of guitars.. and I think it's fairly normal, or should at least be considered that way by now.
