Cheer up buddy. As much as that sucks, look at it this way- Some of us had to wait 1-2 more months than you to get our custom ordered basses. It's like you got to test drive it before it was really done. I don't know for sure, but they'll probably just make a new neck for your bass and it will be on it's way. It will be "out for delivery" for good soon enough.

They'll want to install the neck themselves--that is, if they don't just replace the entire instrument. Speaking as someone who was told, "Sorry that replacement wasn't good enough--we're doing it again," I'm pretty certain they won't just ship out a neck for someone else to install. They'll want the old neck back, anyway.

Some of you will remember that when I ordered Moby, the bass arrived with frets--be glad you only got lines. EB/MM and Guitar Center handled it beautifully. I kept the fretted bass until the fretless arrived, and swapped them out. I'm not saying that your situation is the exact same, but you've got nothing to worry about.


Fretless Bongos with piezos are the absolute 'znit. I'm glad so many people are joining me in my once exclusive club. Sigh...seems like they'll let anyone in these days....

I should of been more clear. I didn't think they were going to make a neck and just ship it for someone to install. That would be so far away from the quality of service EBMM offers. Adelucia said he was putting it back in the box-I'm guessing they are going send it back to the factory. I didn't think I had to spell it out but my bad.

Heh--the first time I read that I saw, "I didn't think I had to spell it out on my bed."

And, it wasn't a matter of spelling it out. I have known companies to just send a replacement neck and say, "Knock yourself out" as opposed to wanting to oversee the final build. I won't name names, but starts with an 'F,' ends in an 'r' and has 'ende' in the middle.

Yep - and I'm cool with it. Already been looking at the bright side - I got to give it a try in my home with my rig (friggin' blew me away!) and I get to enjoy the excitement of anticipation all over again without spending a dime!

Absolutely right! The fact that I only got lines at least provided the opportunity to sample the actual feel and tonal capabilities of the bass. I had ordered her up without seeing the color or case in person and without touching a fretless model or actually hearing the Piezo bridge. Man I tell ya, it's all good - heck, it's all fantastic!

BTW - My Bongo will be known as "Trinity", for her pure soulful goodness and her completing my collection of three distinctive basses.
