Hello everyone just got my first EBMM EVH model and it's a 92' never had one or any EB guitars. Just want to know what to expect pros and cons of this model.
welcome !!!!!
gotta say......for me......the honeymoon never ends w/ these guitars.
played a gig tonight w/ my 90 morse i've had since 90.......played literally 1000's of gigs w/ it......& again tonight after the first set i put it in the hanger & marveled at how sweet it is !!!!!!!!
I have pics just don't have the guitar in my hands yet, won't get it till Wed. Plus I'm so bad with computers I tried to put up the pics and it says they are to big and I have no idea how to shrink them? I been playing strats for some time and just from reading some of the post here I figured I had to try one myself. Although the thing kind of looks like a lollipop but if it plays nice I'm gonna love it(I hope). The thing that really makes me nervous if the orginal owner removed all the strings, I've read that it could wreck the neck. Thats my only fear with buying one of these used.
Again this board seems really helpful and glad to be a small part of it, thanks.
Set up a free account at www.photobucket.com. If the pics are too big (filesize) they will re-size them for you. All you need to at photobucket is blick "browse" and find the pic on your computer. Then click submit and the rest will be done for you. It will also give you a page that give you a thumbnail pic of your original pic with copyable links below it. Then, come back to the forum and pos t the links or post the pics within your thred.
Congrats on your new aquisition. I've never owned an actual EVH, but I've owned 3 Axis' and the only area of concern I can report is that you have to become familiar with how to make proper neck adjustments on it. With the neck being unfinished maple, it is more sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity.
For example: I keep mine in the case inside my house when I'm not playing it. I took it to an outdoor gig on a hot, humid August day. I put it in the case and left it alone for two days. When I took it out of the case, it buzzed and fretted out badly. Not a problem, just a quick neck adjustment, and it played just fine.
Don't let the idea of making a neck adjustment on this guitar freak you out. It is the easiest guitar to make a neck adjustment on. Don't pay someone to do it for you.
If you can get your hands on a Wolfgang Owners Manual from Peavey, all of the adjustments are pretty much the same. It is actually a really good reference for making adjustments to your EVH. I know you used to be able to download it as a PDF file at the Peavey site.
The only other thing that I have heard of being problematic with these guitars is the 3 way switch breaking.
