yeah, the tolex case for my '92 smells like
an ash tray (from previous owner). I can't
get rid of the stink and will not put the bass
back in there again b/c I put a lot of effort
in removing the stink from the SR4

If I can find a newer, stink-free, MM tolex -
you can HAVE the stinker . . . if your a smoker
that is

Okay then, I hope you find a newer non-stinky case, because I will certainly take you up on the offer and I am the first so there!

I do smoke, but not in the house and my cases are all in a closet, and in any case I know how to use Febreeze!

Trust me guys, I've tried many air fresheners,
coffee beans, & even a few colonges. It's just
masks the gross stink. If you are a smoker,
you may think that febreeze works, but it
really doesn't, it only covers up the stink
for a short while. My 2nd hand car, purchased
from a smoker 4 years ago, also stinks . . still.

Try closing it up with as much crumpled newspaper as you can squeeze in there (B&W, not color).

Something to do with the carbon used in the ink - it absorbs the smell.
