Congrats! I am new to this forum, and like you a brand new MM owner. Mine I received in a trade and it is a 1989 SR5 Black with maple. I hope you end up as happy as I have been the last couple weeks. This is the first bass my drummer threatened me not to sell or trade off....

I thought they were called Big Alberts - or in A Douglas's case Big Orange Alberts they are also v nice though.

Bass arrived Tuesday, straight into rehearsals and gigs this week. It plays beautifully, feels and sounds great, still working out the best settings for the EQ, getting there though. Sounds best on the active input of my SWR Bass 750. Played it through an Ampeg SVT and 8x10 at a show on Thursday, very nice indeed. Off to an outside festival gig now, hopefully post some pics tomorrow. Very happy.
