San Diego made their biggest of many blunders getting rid of Drew. The sleeper team...the media is focusing only on the pack and the pats.....

BP, I am originally from San Diego and watched the draft we got Brees in. I was stoked we got L.T. and was hoping we would get Brees too. Miami almost took him at the end of the first round and once they passed on him I knew we would select him. I was ecstatic when we did. I remember watching the game where he got injured and knew that was his last time as a Charger. I am still a die hard Chargers fan but am also still a huge Drew Brees fan and am happy for him.

I think it's hard to NOT be a Drew Brees admirer. His time in San Diego, his failure to meet the Dolphins' medical standards and then - to New Orleans. Just in time for Katrina. And if he is sometimes treated a little bit like a modern-day Jesus, it's because of what he and Sean Payton have done to lift the spirits of a city that was mostly washed away. And Brees and Sean Payton are both humble and self-deprecating, something the NFL and many other pro sports teams are not exactly famous for.

There are some great QBs out there these days. Watching Aaron Rodgers these days reminds me of watching Joe Montana in his prime. Brady is another great story and clearly one of the best that's ever played the game. There are some up -and-comers, too. I love the Saints and I love the Giants, but more than anything else, I'm a fan of "the game". When it's played well and with talent and dedication - even if my team loses - I admire the skill and preparation and execution.

So I'm no partisan. I want the Saints and the Giants to do well, and I think Brees deserves to be mentioned in the same paragraph as Montana, Steve Young, Bart Starr, Dan Marino - the greats, you guys know who they are.

I agree with you Jack. I do get annoyed many times by the NFL and professional sports in general as it has become nothing but about the money. I won't name specific players by name but I'm sure we all know who a lot of them are. My 15 year old just ended football a few weeks ago and had his team make it to the playoffs. I was bummed when they eventually lost but I loved the seeing kids just play to play. No contracts, no ego's, just young men out to play a game. It made me wish that professional sports was more like that. I understand there will always be an economics side to professional sports but I wish more played the game for the love of the game. I also believe Brees is one of those people too.

So true....but you can't expect a good soccer player to just get up without rolling 15 metres, crying and holding his head, leg, ankle and back. You try breaking a hair and getting some of your fake tan rubbed off in the middle of a match. You wouldn't be able to go on either......you guys need to check out the All Blacks. Thats what we call FREAKIN' HARD down here!

Right! :D

I mean, ...we named soccer = football, what make sense, right?

I still don't get it why named the game played with hands = football?

The game is started with a "kickoff", after a touchdown you "kick" an extra point and during the game if you can't score
a Touchdown you try to "kick" a field goal. That and there already was handball.

There you go, trying to introduce logic. You know there isn't any. American football is only slightly less confusing than cricket.

Considering there were cricket games that went on for 105 hours, we're pretty strait forward, a little more aggressive but hey at least no sleep depravation!! And with that "Go Giant's", looks like we have Osi back, I'll be there in the tundra section, I use a hang glider to get out!

Yeah it should be rocking, just wish other ticket holders wouldn't sell their tickets to Cowboy fans, but I think the G men will
keep them down by staying ahead. I can't believe it's the last tailgate already.

I think you can see where my loyalty lies.

Brees is definitely on track to be one of the greats. This has been a good year for the Saints. The Packers are the only team I worry about because Rodgers can score as well as Brees can. I think it's been hard for a lot of teams to keep up with the Saints offensively this year.
