Well, I pulled the trigger, and let me tell you, its been a long time coming. I look forward to long and prosperous relationship with my new Transulcent Teal Stingray5 H. I had a Rickenbacker 4003 jetglo that I enjoyed playing, but my thirst for the Ray proved too powerful. I won't go into the whole comparison thing, but I assure you I am a happier man today. I will post pics next week when it arrives...

Excellent choice. I love the 5er's but I'm to old school to start getting used to and learning how to play one.

Use it in good health and Welcome to the Forum..........:)

Good score. I know a cat in Chicago who has a trans teal SR5 and it's beautiful. He has a tort PG and a white PU cover on it, if I recall correctly.

I always wanted a ric, and finally got one a few years back. It was beautiful, and was really a nice instrument, but I could not get used to the feel of it.

MusciMan basses just feel more natural to me (and the Fenders, of course, because that is what I started out on).

I sold my 1974 Rickenbacker 4001 Bass last year and bought a Stingray. I was frustrated with the Ric as the input jacks were ALWAYS intermittently going out. I had it repaired three times, but it never got any better.

I love the Stingray, but in retrospect, I think it probably wasn't a good move. The Rickenbacker was probably worth more than I sold it for. I should have sent it to the factory for repairs before giving up on it.

Oh well, what's done is done. The Stingray feels and sounds better anyway. However, I will say that the Rickenbacker basses look really really cool.
