Hey All,
A friend of mine writes reviews for a few Los Angeles area papers and he loaned me his
pre-release copy of The Carlton/Lukather Live in Paris DVD. Its AWESOME....... Great sound quality. Carlton absolutely Kills on it. Luke, well as always, he completely tears it up..... on his Infamous Black Sparkle Luke. 7 Songs 2+ Hours!!!!!! Great interviews with both guys and some cool rehearsal footage. It will be released this Tuesday, Oct. 2nd... So pick one up!!!!!! Its a great venue to see Luke REALLY stretch out, especially if you are only familiar with his Toto work......... Its a must have.

I have heard the cd, and it's fantastic, l didn't know it was being released on Dvd, being able just to see those 2 cats rip it up on stage, alot of guitarists could learn alot from these 2 "freaks of nature" i know l have, and will continue to do so, freakin fantastic. I love Luke's tone on the cd.

Scott.

Has it got "Cause We've Ended As Lovers" on it?

I D/L'd a version of that from the same tour and it was immense.

Does anyone know if the DVD is region 2?
I live in Europe and my DVD player only plays regionfree or region 2 (europe) DVDs

If it only plays region 1 DVDs, it's a good reason for me to buy a new DVD player :D

That's good news, thanks for the quick reply.

Went to some stores this afternoon, but none of the stores had it in stock.
Think I'm going to order it tomorrow

You have to buy this DVD, I’ve followed Steve Lukather’s music for years and I got into Larry Carlton’s after hearing the Osaka CD. Both of them are on top form, great atmosphere, good interviews/extras, especially the guitar tips with Larry.

I read an article where Luke said that Larry Carlton ‘composes’ on stage, this is very true, fantastic improvisation, the version of ‘It was only yesterday’ is incredible, and quite different from the CD.

I hope they do this again, it would be great to see them in the UK…. any chance Lucious?
